Birthstones

Are you familiar with the stones associated with each month known as "birthstones"? We've provided a quick reference list below.

The tradition of associating stones with each month came about after the breast plate of a high priest was discovered in Egypt containing these 12 stones. Tradition has it, Hebrews took the 12 stones and assigned each one to represent their 12 tribes of Israel. It was in the 18th century in Poland that wearing birthstones came into fashion. It was believed that the cosmic energy transmitted by the stones would resonate back to the war, creating positive energy, that in turn would bring good luck and happiness.
